What Apps are coming on July 1st?

It's hard to be sure what Apps will be available on the Touchpad's final release and which ones will also be available in the App Catalog for download, either free or for purchase.

Richard Kerris, VP of worldwide developer relations for webOS stated "Let me be clear: For TouchPad apps, we'll have a little more than 300 at launch that are written just for the TouchPad"

On some screenshots, from the initial introduction back in February, from videos and pictures taken since on pre-release and demo models, and Google searches, we begin to get a picture of what might be available.

Of course their will be the common ones already included in webOS devices, such as...

Touchpad to beat iPad to the Facebook App punch

Originally reported as Facebook releasing an App for the webOS Touchpad before the much anticipated and waited for iPad Facebook App, the release of the Touchpad on July 1st will nonetheless come with a fully tablet ready App for Facebook. Facebook clarified that the App was not created by them, but it still has Apple fanboys drooling in anticipation of what a native App might bring to their iPad experience. Kudos to HP for bringing to fruition what looks to be a well developed application from Day 1.  We will surely be talking about this more, but for now you can see some screenshots.

Welcome to Touchpad Apps

With the July 1, 2011 release of the HP Touchpad, this blog is dedicated to the Applications that are available specifically for this webOS product.

The first endeavor will be to review the Apps that are available and shipped on the Touchpad.

Next will be those Apps that are available through the App Catalog, with concentration on the free Apps due to money constraints.

And finally, Paid Apps will also be reviewed, either as purchased, or if they are submitted to this blog for review.

I also expect that Homebrew Apps that are made available will also be reviewed, as that community of Developers has made webOS what it is today.

Other features might focus on Developers, webOS and the Touchpad in general, and other Tablets and Applications that might be of interest to the community in general. Also considered will be reviews of Apps published elsewhere, and the discussions around them.
